Heptanese, Heptanesian dialect, Heptanesian idiomsΠερίληψη
This article (re-)visits phonological, morphological, and lexical features that are common to all of the Heptanese (with very few exceptions in Cythera/Anticythera) but absent or residual in Standard Modern Greek. I argue that many of them are overlooked, under-discussed, misinterpreted or exaggerated in the current literature and that they are enough to testify to the existence of a single Heptanesian dialect, since linguistic peculiarities of each island are comparatively minimal.
