Τhe present paper involves a quantitative research concerning the borrowing in the Greek language and the etymological/synchronic profile of nominal inflection in Contemporary Modern Greek. The paper concludes that some nominal inflectional classes are revival-based, where others are more prone to borrowability and neology. Language contact is crucial for nominal remodeling (cf. imparisyllabics). Prototypicality cannot only be quantitative-driven and is possibly connected more to inflectional suffixes.
